I love the concept of a sleeper train. When I was very young, we went on one in Kenya, but I have yet to travel on the charmingly named Caledonian Sleeper or, indeed, the Night Riviera. Very jealous!

It's well worth it! You can get bargain berths for £19 each way if you're lucky (you need to book well in advance, and for off-peak times of the year). Fall asleep in London and wake up in Inverness, then hire a car and tour the Highlands, I think you'd love it.
